Frenchy Romero at Lagniappe on keys

When

August 20, 2023
9:00 pm - 11:59 pm

Frenchy Romero
A native of Miami, FL, Franchesca Romero began her piano studies in the classical realm until she entered high school (editor’s comment here: She ran into Jim Gasior) where she began her jazz studies. Franchesca has performed both nationally and internationally alongside the likes of Ambrose Akinmusire, Rodney Whitaker, Michael Dease, and Carl Allen. In 2019, she was a member of the Sisters in Jazz Collegiate Combo – joining a long lineage of influential women in jazz. Influenced by the jazz tradition as well as her Cuban roots, Frenchy has developed a unique sound which embodies the rich tradition of both genres. Tonight Frenchy will be joined by Fernando Ferrarone on trumpet, Vince Dupont on bass and Max Marsillo on drums.

9:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m., The Lagniappe House, 3425 NE 2nd Ave., Miami, 33137, 305.576.1018, No Cover, $15 paid parking in lot behind the joint. We like masks if you do. (Wynwood – Design District – Miami)
