The Jazz Series at the Faena Theater is proud to present Grammy-winning jazz pianist Sullivan Fortner as their March concert offering. A recent recipient of three Grammy Nominations and one Grammy win, the New Orleans native is fast becoming recognized as one of the jazz world’s most innovative and musical pianists. His work with Cécile McLorin Salvant and Samara Joy (with whom he just won his recent Grammy) can hardly be called accompaniment, it’s truly equal collaboration. Sullivan’s recently released trio album, “Southern Nights”, celebrates New Orleans’ rich musical lineage with nods to Cuban and other Caribbean sounds and that is the music he’ll be bringing to the Faena Theater. “New Orleans is at the top of the Caribbean,” Fortner observes. “The Spanish and Caribbean influences run deep, and you can hear that in the music.” Don’t miss this
deeply soulful and wildly inventive pianist, coming to the Faena Theater on Wednesday March 19 th 2025. Joining Sullivan will be bassist Tyrone Allen and drummer Kayvon Gordon. Sullivan Fortner is a Steinway Piano artist. For tickets and more information: www.faenatheater.com/concerts, Valet parking is available. We like masks if you do. (Miami Beach)
