Karrin Allyson is at the Amaturo Theater at the Broward Center for the Arts, Wed. March 11 beginning at 7:45pm. The New York Times says, “Heart, intelligence, warmth — an emotional range from bittersweet to sassy —you hear it every time you listen. Make no mistake — Karrin Allyson is singing to you.” Among musicians, Allyson is known not only for her vocal abilities but also as a great bandleader. Her highly developed interplay with her bandmates sounds effortless, but conceals a deep musical sophistication. An extraordinary musician, she moves with ease from the Great American Songbook of Gershwin and Porter to the Great American Jazz Songbook of Duke, Thelonious, Miles, and Dizzy, to gentle bossa rhythms and to the music of Bonnie Raitt, Joni Mitchell, and Jimmy Webb to her flair for singing down home Kansas City blues. Full bar available before the show and during intermission. Tickets are $65 plus fees here: https://www.ticketmaster.com/gold-coast-jazz-karrin-allyson-ft-lauderdale-florida-03-11-2026/event/0D00630BB6702A34.
