This Friday we have a VERY Special Drum Jam happening with Romeo Ragbir.  It’s the last Free Friday Drum Jam of the year at the South Florida Center for the Percussive Arts (SFCPA)! Born in Trinidad and Tobago, Romeo Ragbir is a master musician and instrument builder who specializes in the tassa drum. Tassa originated in South India and was revolutionized in the West Indies where it was infused with calypso beats. For over thirty years, Romeo has dedicated himself to preserving and sharing this tradition and was recognized for his expertise in 2009 with the Florida Folk Heritage Award.
Join us EVERY FRIDAY from 7-9pm for Free Friday Drum Jams! The Free Friday Drum Jam is free and open to all ages and abilities. Everyone is invited to try out the instruments, learn from one another, and just jam out! Don’t miss this unique event and last Drum Jam of the year! There is no experience needed to participate and by the time you leave, you’ll be a drummer. Everyone is invited to try out the instruments, learn from one another, and jam out. We hope to see you there! It’s FREE, plenty of parking in lot. We like masks if you do. (South Miami)
