Taking inspiration from 1970s Nigerian big bands, Diaspora Vibe Afrobeat Allstars were created by Gordon Duane Myers, a multi-instrumentalist and producer, and Rosie Gordon-Wallace, founder of Diaspora Vibe Cultural Arts Incubator. This initiative kept local musicians employed during the pandemic, and began with concerts at the Garner Foundation in downtown Miami. The band are a multicultural explosion, reflecting Miami’s diverse 21st century landscape. Join us for a night of world music infused with funk, soul and jazz! Live on the Plaza is a series of outdoor concerts on our Parker and Vann Thomson Plaza for the Arts. Happy hour is from 6 to 7 p.m. Enjoy $8 wines and $6 beers. We like masks if you do.
